Sustainability of the project is essential and a major focus of our work. Each year the AWSOM Project awards several scholarships to candidates from My Tho City. The scholarship program is a vital part of our drowning prevention work in the Mekong Delta region.

The scholarship recipients travel to Perth, Australia to undertake training and professional development with the Beatty Park Swim school.

 All costs involved in these scholarships are fully funded by the AWSOM Project.

We were so excited to welcome Ms Vo Thi Tuyet and Ms Tran Thao to Perth. These lovely ladies from My Tho City were recipients of the 2023 AWSOM Project Scholarship Program. Ms Tuyet and Ms Thao participated in a number of professional development activities including training with Beatty Park Leisure Centre teachers, joining a Coastal Safety Field Trip in Margaret River, and attending the World Conference on Drowning Prevention. It was an honour to host our scholarship recipients and show them around our city.
